Guru help

Devotee; will the guru help us to know the self through initiation etc.

Maharishi Ramana; Does the Guru hold you by the hand and whisper in the ear? You may imagine him to be what you are. Your self. Because you think you are the body. Do you think he has a body? to do something tangible to you. His work lies within, in the spiritual realm.

Can a man change?

So with one breath, you could wipe away all ideologies, all opposites. Please go into it and understand this; it is really quite extraordinary what takes place. If a man who is angry pretends or tries not to be angry, in that there is conflict. But if he says,” I will observe what anger is, not try to escape or rationalize it” then there is energy to understand and put an end to anger. If we develop an idea that the mind must be free from conditioning, there will remain a duality between the facts and what should be. Therefore it is a wastage of energy. And the same formula we apply to hatred, jealousy etc. When we look or observe directly at the mind without giving any name or ideas it is not a waste of energy and we will wipe it with one breath; J. Krishnamurti.

Need for practice

Division grace is essential for self-realization. But grace is vouchsafed only to him who is a true devotee or a yogi. It is given to only to those who have striven hard and ceaselessly on the path of freedom…. Maharishi Ramana.

Seeing( observation )

For meditation, the art of seeing is very important. When we have an image of any kind it becomes an obstacle to watching. There are some words of J.Krishanamurti which shed light on this .

Do you see a tree conceptually or actually? When you see a flower, do you see it directly or do you see it through the screen of your particular knowledge, botanical or non-botanical to through the pleasure it gives? How do you see it? If it is a conceptual seeing, that is to it is seen by through thought, is it seen? Do you see your wife or husband? — or do you see the image you have about her or him? That image is the concept through which see conceptually, but when there is no image at all then you actually see, then you are actually related. J. Krishanamurti.

Grace

Your very desire for grace is due to grace that already working in you: Maharishi Ramana.

Comments: every human lies already grace in one’s heart. But our minds remain full of too many thoughts. When we start to remove our thoughts by meditation it becomes empty and we find grace there which was already there.
