Verse:19

Where from does this ‘I’ -thought arise? If one enquire thus, it vanishes. This is the self-inqury. Maharishi Ramana.

Comments; when we trace the very source of thought which is the,’I’ it will vanishes and what will remain there is bliss. It’s the matter of practice. as you will do more and more you will find eternal bliss which can not be described by language.

Our own natural stat

Without the ‘I’ the second and third person can not exist when the ‘I’ subsidies through enquiry about its source, the second and third persons too disappear our natural state, shine forth. Maharishi Ramana.

Verse9.

The repose of being in one’s true nature, devoid of thoughts, is the highest devotion. It comes from the strength of meditation.— Maharishi Ramana.

Comments; when we do practice of observation of our thoughts more and more than our thoughts start to emerge in the self or soul and the experience of bliss starts automatically. We have to do it with a keen interest. Because bliss is our true nature we have to work on watching our mind. In the absence of thoughts, it will shine. It is like that when there are no clouds we can see the blue sky.

Grace

The highest form of grace is silence. It’s also the highest upadesa. Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; In the silence of the mind we can realize the experience of bliss which can not be experienced by language or words. Our saints explain it through deep sleep. In deep sleep, we experience happiness because there are not figures and names. And when by the practice of watching the source of mind our thoughts become minimize and we experience the bliss.

You can not understand a Grandfather by a grandson; Maharishi Ramana.

Maharishi Ramana used to say that silence is your original state.in this state, you touch your being. It is bliss.

Now thought comes. A child born this is a son; then you speak, it is a grandson. This is language. Now how you understand your being? Which shines in the Silence.

Guru help

Devotee; will the guru help us to know the self through initiation etc.

Maharishi Ramana; Does the Guru hold you by the hand and whisper in the ear? You may imagine him to be what you are. Your self. Because you think you are the body. Do you think he has a body? to do something tangible to you. His work lies within, in the spiritual realm.

Can a man change?

So with one breath, you could wipe away all ideologies, all opposites. Please go into it and understand this; it is really quite extraordinary what takes place. If a man who is angry pretends or tries not to be angry, in that there is conflict. But if he says,” I will observe what anger is, not try to escape or rationalize it” then there is energy to understand and put an end to anger. If we develop an idea that the mind must be free from conditioning, there will remain a duality between the facts and what should be. Therefore it is a wastage of energy. And the same formula we apply to hatred, jealousy etc. When we look or observe directly at the mind without giving any name or ideas it is not a waste of energy and we will wipe it with one breath; J. Krishnamurti.
